Opening first retail store inventory advice

Hey Reddit

We have a home decor online shop selling products from a Vietnam manufacturer with inventory in the US. We are looking at opening our first retail store.

Can someone share what the term is when you dont pay a supplier for inventory until you have sold it to a customer? Is this a common model in retail? We have asked our manufacturer and they have never done this, but for cash flow purposes it would be the best option.
