LPT: When you have to get a shot, face your palm upwards and rest it on your lap. This makes it impossible to flex your deltoid and will make the shot hardly noticeable.

I was told this by the nurse today after I found out I was due for two vaccines. Never had someone tell me this before and it made a significance difference in the pain not just during the shot but also later on by reducing the sourness in the area. The nurse also mentioned that if you ever have to get a shot in your bum, you can do the same thing by resting only your toe on the ground instead of being flat footed.
