so i start a new job as a hostess tomorrow and i know this says server but i’m just not sure where to ask for advice!
with covid and everything, my restaurant is not going to take reservations (first come first serve basis instead) so what do i do if some guests come in and every table is full? if they say they will come back/wait, do i kind of reserve the table without actuallyyyy reserving it? or do i have to continue with doing first come first serve even if they come back but someone comes in before them?
not sure if i’m making sense!
any other hosting tips would be awesome if you know any or have noticed things that make good and respected hosts?
