(Obligatory apology for formatting) At my store we have a cashback limit of $200, and this one man comes in once a week and always gets $200 back. He asked if the limit was still $200, and then selected 200 on the keypad. It ended up going a little bit like this: Characters: Me: me CM: Cashback man Me: How would you like your cashback sir? CM: Twenties please. (In thick Italian accent) Me: Sir I only have two twenties is it alright if I give you big bills instead? CM: Sure (he looks around angrily and begins to sigh repeatedly) Me, handing him two hundreds: Two hundred dollars have a great day sir. CM: What is this, can I get twenties? I want twenties. I asked for twenties. Me: Sir I only have two twenties I’m sorry CM: Oh, can you break these into twenties? Me: Sir, I do not have enough ...

All the time I see posts about how it’s unfair that we have to work for a living and someone else doesn’t, or that someone else gets to have a better job than they do because the other person was lucky enough to be born into a wealthy family. People all the time are like “hard work doesn’t actually generate wealth I have a degree and I still work at McDonald’s.” Or some other bullshit like that. Yes you made decisions that have created your present reality. Sure some things outside of your control happened but what are you doing to get past that? Maybe you should have researched your school more. Maybe you should have gotten a higher GPA. Maybe you should have skipped school and started a business. Maybe you should have gone to trade school and done something with your hands that other peo...

At least in the US, restaurants and food chains selling burgers usually disclose the exact amount of meat in their burger: “quarter pounder”, “1/4lb patty”, “1/2lb monster burger”. However, when it comes to pizza, it’s always a subjective “extra cheese”, “super cheesy”, which is not helpful. More often than not I found myself asking “uh where’s the extra here??”. I think consumers should be informed about the exact amount of cheese in a pizza too, for example, “1/2lb cheese” or in grams “350g of cheese”. If anything, that would encourage pizza chains to put more cheese on their pizza!! submitted by /u/gwoers [link] [comments]

There's always a few comments saying "I was today years old when I found out bla bla bla" and I literally get so annoyed because it's seen so frequently but is so grammatically incorrect. Who the hell even types that out and thinks, "yeah that seems legit". You could literally just say "Today I learned" like a normal person but nope submitted by /u/Username5riginal [link] [comments]

I live abroad from my family so I've spent the last few Christmases by myself. And it's been lovely! If you are stranded due to the pandemic or stuck in lockdown or quarantine, here's my recommendations for still having a wonderfully festive time: Get a Christmas tree. Decorate your living space with Christmas cheer. It will lift your mood and get you in the Christmas spirit! Buy your own presents. Nobody knows what you want better than you, so treat yourself! Even better if they are things that you can use and enjoy in some way during the festive season. I wrap them and put them under my tree for that maximum Christmas feeling. Make a schedule for your day. Zoom with family at 11am, take a walk in nature at 12pm, glass of champagne at 2pm, eat dinner at 5pm. There's n...

In my opinion, a lot of music is interesting to listen to slower or faster, and you might even prefer some songs faster! I get that it isn’t the way the music was originally supposed to sound like, but the artists still get their streams, and we get to enjoy the music more. They would probably make it premium only, but it’s still an interesting idea. submitted by /u/Usernamesareweirdest [link] [comments]

Just a few weeks ago i ordered a thing online but I couldn't change my address info in the website. My mom reached out to the custom service but she was mostly aggressive towards them (she wasn't angry against the person she was talking to, but with their system in general, which to be honest sucks pretty bad), and things were going really slow. I started talking to them, acting sad about the delays but at the same time I acted optimistic saying that I could have the thing I ordered in time for Christmas, in the end the custom service was happy to serve me and my article arrived on time. I think the reason for it is that if you act sad the person you're talking to will have empathy towards you, and at the same time, when you sound optimistic, it's like you're putti...
