Understaffing should be illegal

Understaffing should be illegal

LifeStyle
Many minimum wage jobs seem to be perpetually understaffed. And it makes sense... the corporation doesn't actually care if the employees are stressed and overworked and they can get more profit by understaffing. Companies have figured out they don't actually have to hire enough employees, they can just understaff and expect the employees to do many things at once to make up for it. At worst, the understaffing makes the order take longer to be ready or causes long lines, but this rarely seems to cause the customers to actually leave (especially since many orders are paid for ahead and ordered online), meaning the company faces no actual repercussions. Because of this, I think there should be laws in place to prevent companies from understaffing. Yes, this would possibly harm some c...

The Harry Potter Movies are Christmas films

LifeStyle
If you can call Die Hard or Batman Returns a Christmas movie, then you sure as hell can call the Harry Potter films Christmas movies. There is nothing more Christmas than the Great Hall when it's decorated. Alright, now you have an excuse to watch the movies every year. submitted by /u/JMoneyGraves [link] [comments]
Not giving a present is better than giving an unthougtful one.

Not giving a present is better than giving an unthougtful one.

LifeStyle
By "unthoughtful ones" I mean shampoo, shaving utilities, socks etc. People like both giving and getting presents. What if you don't know what to buy someone to make them happy? Just buy a generic male present for men and generic female present for women! You could just simply not buy anything but it's hard to cope the psychological stress of not buying someone a present for christmas. You HAVE TO be satisfied yourself. It doesn't matter that the targeted person will be in awkward situation and will have to pretend they liked your present. YOU are satisfied. That's what matters! On the serious side. I'm getting tired of the mentality of "omg we didn't buy anything for x, quickly do sth". It only shows how disrespectful you are of that person. Th...
Wine is disgusting

Wine is disgusting

LifeStyle
I have felt somewhat ashamed of this opinion for most of my adult life as I watch my contemporaries snidely drink their drinks, but I need to be honest with myself and the time is now! I’ve tried plenty of them- very expensive, inexpensive, aged, new, you name it- enough to know that wine, across the board, is not a good drink and I don’t like it. Thank you for your time. submitted by /u/skepticallincoln [link] [comments]
Sunbathing on the beach is fucking boring.

Sunbathing on the beach is fucking boring.

LifeStyle
When on the beach why do people lie down on a towel or under an umbrella for hours doing nothing. They cook themselves in the sun and just lie there. It’s so unfathomably boring and it can give you skin cancer. Wouldn’t people rather go swimming or walk up the beach or go fishing or play a game on the beach instead. What is this obsession with roasting in the suns rays for hours on end doing literally nothing active or mildly engaging. I can’t understand it. submitted by /u/SamJ04- [link] [comments]

A lot of people who claim they used to be addicted to porn are just fucking weirdos with puritanical views about sex

LifeStyle
I think porn addiction is real, people can be addicted to pretty much anything. However, I think a lot of people who claim they used to be addicted to porn are just fucking weirdos who think lust and masturbation are damnable offenses. I had a coworker a couple years ago who eventually told me he used to be addicted to porn until he was saved by Jesus at 16 (I’m a Christian, but he was fruity about it) I believe he believes he was addicted to porn, but given everything else I learned about him, I really just think he was just jerking it like a normal god damn teenager and was somehow convinced he was being sinful and was going to go to hell for it. I found it hilariously fascinating and I’ve watched a handful of YouTube videos of people with stories similar to his and I’ve learned there...
People need to stop normalizing alcoholism

People need to stop normalizing alcoholism

LifeStyle
My wife received a throw pillow from a friend this Christmas that reads “Someone call 9 wine wine” despite the fact that she doesn’t drink. It’s not cute or funny, it’s just disguising alcoholism as quirkiness. I see this type of thing on Facebook and other social media websites all the time, and it’s especially popular with women aged 35-60 for some reason. If I were to give a friend a pillow that reads “Give me meth or give me death” y’all would think I had a problem, so stop that nonsense submitted by /u/jamesmcnabb [link] [comments]
