Getting a flight into Australia at the moment is a nightmare. I have a business class flight booked from Guangzhou to Melbourne with Malaysia Airlines, and thinking of doubling up by buying the exact same itinerary flying a week later, since cancellation is only 700 CNY (109 USD / 140 AUD). This is to ensure that if the first is cancelled by the airline, I still have the second to fall back on.
I've read through the terms and conditions are there's nothing I can find that explicitly prohibits this. Does this count as a ticketing ploy that the airline might decide not to allow refund of the second ticket?
Thanks for any insights or possible places to read further.
